Eastern Counties Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Society

The Eastern Counties Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Society is a Regional Society in the United Kingdom associated with Cavalier owners in East Anglia and neighbouring Counties of ENGLAND .

We applied to the Kennel Club for registration of the Society in 1974 and held our first organized event in Newmarket on 18th July 1976. Our first Limited Show was judged by Mrs Susan Burgess in January 1977 with Lady Forwood judging our first Open Show in June of the same year.

We came of age in June 1980 with our first Breed Championship Show which has now become an annual event although it is now held in April.

We have approximately 275 members and membership is open to anyone who has an interest in Cavaliers not just those who show dogs. Our activities centre around the three Breed Shows we put on each year. We also very occassionally run Social events.

From time to time we arrange Health clinics and seminars both on Judging and Grooming as well as talks on Breeding and associated doggie issues.

We run our own Cavalier Rescue and Welfare which uses volunteers to collect and place dogs which need a new home, be it matrimonial difficulties, the unfortunate death of owners or anyone who cannot continue to look after their own dog.

We also assist our members by advertising their puppies for sale on our Puppy register.

We run a Society Stall at all our events selling Cavalier goodies ranging from key rings, blankets, cards, china plates and mugs, note books, fridge magnets and numerous other items.
